ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting opportunity for an RD&

A Innovation Chef to join the Kerry Front End Innovation Team in Naas
(with a focus on Plant based products)

_YOU WILL_ play a leading role in the conceptualisation, prototyping
and exploratory development of innovative culinary concepts. Support
the wider RD&

A community and EUM opportunities through pathfinding, partnering or
consulting - leading the development where necessary. A subject matter
expert with deep culinary expertise, and an ability to join the dots
between insight, food craft, science & technology, creating best in
class products.

This is a Permanent Role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Provides culinary leadership & support to RD&

A / EUM teams in the completion of key projects. Keeps abreast of
culinary and technical developments and market trends in the food
industry.
* Works on new products, concepts and prototypes leveraging
foundational technologies and building blocks where possible and where
required supports commercialization of opportunities.
* Development of strong foundational technology and use in
application knowledge, acting as a key culinary advisor to other
colleagues in product development, both in the FEI team and across the
RD&

A function.
* Builds scientific knowledge through interactions with other RD&

A personnel and by self-learning, regulatory monitoring, and
application studies. Reviews scientific literature to guide thinking
on specific projects.
* Develops cost efficient robust recipes, processes, and stable
concepts through a thorough understanding of NPD and the fundamental
chemical interactions occurring in food products.
* Ensures concepts meet legislation requirements in the regional or
global markets where sales are expected, including any special
criteria for the relevant category.
* Participates in designated RD&

A projects and ensures appropriate documentation of experimental
trials and outcomes to facilitate scale up and product transfer to
manufacturing.
* Support other FEI team members & the RD&

A community, passing on knowledge where appropriate.
* Facilitates cross functional way of working ensuring all concepts
are developed in line with Taste and Nutrition pillars and growth
strategies.
* Work with the technology business leads on maximizing return from
RDA investments through incremental development within the Technology.
* Where applicable reportee development, ensuring strength and
capability to support business needs.
* Support cross-technology development and creativity to drive
efficiency and delivery of value.
* Ensure best practices are shared and disseminated throughout team

_QUALIFICATIONS_ and skills

experience in innovation development
* A Culinary or Food Science Degree or equivalent experience
* A highly skilled chef with an ability to create best in class
products across a broad spectrum.
* Works well and with pace in an ambiguous setting, with minimal
direction
* Has a proven ability to independently define research objectives,
review and interpret outcomes of NPD, developing ideas and ways of
applying key learnings to projects
* Proven record of a realistic, practical, and logical, value-based
approach to problem solving across multiple projects
*
_ABILITY TO_ contextualise (make insightful decisions, knowing the
impact on other departments and business overall)
*
_ABILITY TO_ report on complex subject matter in a clear concise
manner that acknowledges a keen understanding of the bigger picture
* Works well with global cross-functional teams

* Good commercial awareness and an ability to talk through concepts
from a commercial perspective
* Sound understanding & implementation of project management
